As the streaming wars rage on Spotify is attempting to raise the bar on its original material.
For its latest venture, the popular music streaming service is teaming up with featured artists to create original, in-house recordings, which will be released every Wednesday.

The first round of Spotify “Singles,” which launched on Nov. 30, gave users access to new music by more than 20 artists including John Legend, Grouplove and Lindsey Stirling.
The deal is that an artist will record one of their original tracks and a cover song at Spotify’s in-house recording studio in New York. Both will debut back-to-back, giving you a nice contrast and allowing you to see a new side of the artist. …
