LCD Soundsystem covered David Bowie's 'Heroes' at Coachella, and it was just about perfect

INDIO, California — During their headlining set at Coachella Friday night, the recently reunited LCD Soundsystem paid tribute to the late David Bowie with a powerful and, for some, tear-inducing cover of “Heroes.”

They played the hits (of course) like “I Can Change,” “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down,” and “Tribulations,” before covering both the 1977 classic and Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain.” (Guns N’ Roses will headline Saturday night.)

The moment was just one of several standouts from the first day of Coachella…

Making sense of enterprise security

Until recently, I knew nothing about enterprise security beyond some of the more widely-publicized breaches in the United States. That said, after spending most of 2016 immersed in the space, I’ve come to appreciate just how challenging and broad an issue security has become to enterprises. I’ve also come to believe that our best hope for solving security is by understanding… Read More

Latest Galaxy S7/S7 edge update hits the UK too, Shape correction included

An update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, which first rolled out in certain regions early this week, has now made it to the UK. The new firmware is arriving on both unlocked and carrier units as we speak.

In terms of features, the update brings shape correction for skewed photos – a toggle to be found in the camera settings. The S7 edge also gets improved palm rejection – the flat S7 doesn’t really need it.

There’s the usual unspecified bug fixes and stability and performance improvements. Additionally, the new firmware includes the latest available Android security patch,…

Kanye West crashed Coachella, but it didn't last very long

INDIO, California — Yet again, Kanye West crashed Coachella.

As he’s wont to do, the Life of Pablo MC made a surprise appearance at the Indio, California, music festival on Friday night during A$AP Rocky’s set for performances of “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1.” But it didn’t last very long, as Kanye’s mic was cut off rather quickly.

This isn’t the first time Kanye’s given a surprise appearance at Coachella, having crashed both the Weeknd’s and Stromae’s sets last year.

Alleged Motorola Moto G4 Plus leaks online

A new Motorola phone has been leaked online, courtesy of the usually reliable leakster @evleaks. The leaked image of the device – allegedly dubbed Moto G4 Plus – shows only the bottom portion of the front-panel, revealing a physical home button.

Sadly, nothing else – including specs, pricing, and availability – was revealed. However, it’d be safe to assume that the device will feature a fingerprint sensor given that an executive from Lenovo (which owns Motorola Mobility) had earlier this year revealed that…

Motorola (Lenovo) Moto G4 Plus apparently coming soon, fingerprint scanner in tow

Back in January, a Lenovo executive talked about this year’s upcoming Moto smartphones, mentioning that all should feature fingerprint scanners, and screens of at least 5 inches. While we don’t know exactly when Motorola Mobility (purchased by Lenovo in 2014) will announce its new handsets, it looks like we already know the names of two of them: not long after finding out about the Moto X3, we’re now hearing that a Moto G4 Plus is in the making, too.

Report: Sluggish sales lead Apple to continue slashing iPhone production in the current quarter

Apple’s shares are taking a little hit this afternoon following a report that sluggish iPhone sales are leading Apple to continue cutting production of its smartphone during the current quarter. During the January-March period, Apple produced 30% fewer iPhones when compared to the same quarter a year earlier.

Apple has already informed its parts suppliers that it is continuing to cut production of the iPhone in the current quarter.
