Nubia announces the photography-focused Z11 Mini in India


The camera package is the main selling point. The 16MP rear camera boasts high end Sony IMX298 image sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 6P lens, phase detection autofocus, and an LED flash. The 8MP front camera is complemented by Nubia’s software suite, which includes skin retouching effects, eight different kinds of filters, and selfie fill-in light for better low-light capture.


The Z11 Mini comes with a few little extras too. There’s a fingerprint scanner on the back, which can double up as a camera shutter button or for capturing screenshots. The phone also comes equipped with Nubia’s Frame Interactive Technology (FiT), which allows the user to interact with the phone by swiping their fingers up and down either edge of the screen. This can be used to open up apps, clean up memory, or adjust the screen brightness.


The Z11 Mini is being sold as part of an exclusive partnership with Amazon India. The phone will be available on October 21st in Black and White color options, and will cost Rs. 12,999 as an introductory offer.

Kodak resurrected a legend – the Kodak Ektra is a new phone, named after an innovative and feature-loaded 35mm camera produced in the distant 1941. The Android-powered digital version is surprisingly impressive, given how underwhelming the first Android-powered Kodak IM5 was.

In the Android 7.1 dev preview, there’s a new storage cleaner that makes it easy to find the old stuff without all that tedious digging around in file managers. It can even automate the process.

Donald Trump may have just previewed his future TV network


A few hours before the final presidential debate, Donald Trump teased a Facebook live — and it might have given a sneak preview for his future media plans.


When the countdown timer expired, most expected another impromptu press conference like last debate’s surprise visit by three of Bill Clinton’s sexual assault accusers. Instead, the feed that followed was a Right Side news-like segment, hosted by the conservative outlet’s founder Joe Seales. Right Side is an outlet, best known for its YouTube page, that broadcasts a conservative slant on news.

The OPPO R9s and R9s Plus are here with 16MP front and rear cameras


If you’ve been eager for 16 million pixel selfies, OPPO has you covered. At an event in China, the Chinese manufacturer lifted the lid on its new R9s and R9s Plus smartphones, both of which feature 16MP front and rear cameras.


The R9s is the smaller of the two metal-clad devices, with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and Snapdragon 625 processor, while the R9s Plus comes with a 6-inch 1080p screen and Snapdragon 653 chipset.

The devices will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with OPPO’s ColorOS 3.0 skin on top when they go on sale – the OPPO R9s is launching in China on October 28 and the R9s Plus following in December. There’s currently no word on US pricing or availability, but we’ll let you know when we learn more.
