The Bing app for iOS has been updated to version 6.7.2. With the update, you now have the option of using the map app that you prefer. If you select Google Maps and directions are called for, Bing will automatically turn to Google Maps for them. Another new feature added to Bing will now give you information about trending musical artists and songs.

Microsoft has pushed out a new update to Bing’s iOS app. The update bumps the app to version 6.7.2 and brings along several changes, including a new reading mode option. The new option will appear on news pages, making “reading more enjoyable.”

Swedish company Truecaller has partnered with China’s Huawei to bring its popular smart dialer/caller ID app to the latter’s flagship smartphones, including the Honor 8 which has just been launched in the US and many other regions around the world.

Apple, Facebook join White House pledge for equal pay


Tech’s biggest companies are joining the White House’s pledge to close the gender wage gap.


The Obama administration launched its pledge in June, calling on companies to take steps toward equal pay for men and women. At the time, 28 companies signed the promise targeted toward private sector companies.


On Friday, 29 more companies joined them. Those companies included some of the biggest names in tech: Apple, Facebook, Dropbox, IBM, Intel, LinkedIn, MailChimp and Microsoft.


Airbnb, Amazon, Cisco, Expedia, Glassdoor, GoDaddy, Jet.com, Pinterest, Salesforce, Slack and Spotify signed the pledge in the first round. …
