KJo is all set to resume shoot for his talk show and start work on his next

Karan Johar
The exclusive idea for Karan Johar's next directorial venture is finally in place, thanks to his unscheduled time off due to a sudden bout of malaria. Because of the illness, Karan had the time to ponder deeply over what he wants to direct next. After months of a mental block, Karan has finally zeroed in on the subject that he wants to take on next. And here's the arresting news: after My Name Is Khan, Karan will direct a full-on fun film filled with music and songs…lip-sync songs which were missing in Khan. Weak but back with his sharp tongue, Karan says, "I suppose out of every setback some good is bound to happen. So yes, that elusive idea for my next film for which I had even taken time off to be in New York but came back empty-brained, is finally locked in."
Karan has decided to make a complete departure from the mood of his last film My Name Is Khan. He will now make a full-on masti musical with at least 10 songs. Says the excited director, "I don't think I should be talking about it so soon. But I can't help it. Yes, after a serious film like Khan, I am moving into the fun zone. I am doing a fun-and-frolic film. I don't care if 'frolic' is too frivolous a word. That's what I am doing in my next." Significantly, Karan's next is going to be full-on musical. Says the director, "In My Name Is Khan, I couldn't have my protagonist singing on screen. Though I'm very proud of its songs, I somehow feel deprived when I don't do full-on lip-sync songs. My next will be a full-fledged musical with the characters singing away on screen. At the moment that's all I can tell you." On Saturday evening, Karan had the Big B over for dinner. Would it be correct to assume that the mega-star would feature in Karan's next directorial venture? At the moment, all one can assume is that Shah Rukh Khan will definitely be a part of Karan's masti-bhari musical. Says Karan, "Amitji just came home for a conversation, dinner and an evening with me and my mother. Every time I speak to him, I feel blessed. I'm very fortunate to have not just known him but also worked with him. Of course I'd love to work with him again and with Abhishek." Karan intends to invite Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan as solo guests on this season of Koffee With Karan. "With them, there's no combination that makes any sense any more," opines Karan.
After 9 days of no-work, Karan will now get back to shooting episodes of his new talk show Koffee With Karan which went on air on Sunday. Sighs the filmmaker-turned-talkshow-host, "Fortunately, I had shot four episodes before I fell ill. So there's a bank. I'm proud of what I've shot so far. People talk about Imran Khan-Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor-Deepika Padukone being rivals. On my show they got along so well!" Interestingly, Deepika is said to have confirmed on Karan's show that it was Ranbir Kapoor whom she had accused of two-timing in print. Says Karan, "I'm not saying anything. Just watch my show."

75 lacs worthy train made for Tees Maar Khan

Tees Maar KhanDownload T.M.K wallpapers Bungalows, marriage 'mandaps', coffee houses, police stations - all of this and more has been a part of set design for many a Bollywood films in the past. But ever heard of an entire functional train being made just for a film? Well, this is what makers Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder did for their first ever production Tees Maar Khan. As is a known fact by now, Tees Maar Khan has a heist plot to it with the entire climax set on a fast running train. To ensure that there were no breaks and an entire train was available to the team for days at stretch, the makers came up with a novel idea. Instead of hiring a train, they built one all by themselves. Confirms Farah Khan, "Yes, we have made a train especially for Tees Maar Khan. All credit to our art director Sabu Cyril who has made it look totally authentic. In fact we tease him saying that he won't get any award for his effort here since the train looks so real. Not just that, we also made an aeroplane just for the film's shoot." Making of this train came with a huge price tag as well. As much as 75 lacs were spent on building the train as well as a 500 meters long track. "The climax requires Akshay to pull off the biggest heist ever in his life. For that, there was a large canvas which was required to be put together. Since the shooting took place in Malshej ghat, an entire train along with tracks was transported there. There was also added cost on the yard where the train was stationed when not being used during shooting", details Farah. In fact the train wasn't driven by a professional engine driver and instead had a truck driver getting behind the wheels. Laughs Farah, "Yes, it was actually quite amusing for the truck driver as well as this was the first time ever that he was running an entire vehicle on a fixed track. Also, he had to do quite a lot of to-and-fro on that 500 meters long track." One wonders though that with a train in sight, was Farah able to resist her temptation to get into a 'Chaiyya Chaiyya' mode all over again? "Come on, there is a train robbery happening here, not romance. But then you never know, there could well be some surprise in store here as well. After all with Akshay around, you can expect the unexpected", teases Farah before signing off.

Hrithik Roshan gets foot massage from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

GuzaarishWe have erotic and semi-erotic love-making sequences in films. But ever heard of a funny-erotic sequence? In Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish, Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who have done brilliant and aesthetic love scenes in Dhoom 2 and Jodhaa Akbar, had to do the toughest erotic sequence of their individual careers.
Aishwarya had to give Hrithik a languorous foot massage while he had to gradually let out sounds of immense pleasure and ecstasy. At some point during the slow-and-steady sequence Aishwarya to had to let out sounds of pleasure herself. And if you think there was any awkwardness between Mrs. Bachchan and Mr. Roshan in performing this erotic sequence, then think again. The two co-stars whooped with laughter all through the rehearsals and even during the final take. Since Hrithik's character cannot feel a thing below the neck the whole exercise shows the two characters pretending to be in the throes of ecstasy. Laughs Sanjay Leela Bhansali, "How can my hero who feels everything from neck up and absolutely nothing from neck down make love with his nurse? He can only pretend. Hrithik has no love scene with Aishwarya. The so-called love-making sequence is actually savagely funny take on a very poignant predicament of a man who cannot feel the things that normal people do. Although his limbs are senseless, his nurse gives him a foot massage to keep the blood circulations going. And that's when the whole mock-ecstasy scene happens. I must say Aishwarya and Hrithik gave a whole new definition to 'faking it' in this sequence. Bahut masti wali scene hai. But the underlying tragedy of a man who will never actually experience what he's pretending to, has also been brought out." It isn't every day that a co-star gets a foot massage from the super-diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Apparently, Hrithik was in full prankish mode for the sequence, probably to make sure there was no awkwardness with Aishwarya when they performed the oddball sequence. Sanjay can't get over how diligently Hrithik worked over his paraplegic's body language in Guzaarish. "Hrithik actually allowed his body to go completely numb below his neck. His performance is comparable with Daniel Day-Lewis' part as a paraplegic in My Two Left Feet...no, in fact better. His character can't make love. But he make us feel his longing for physical passion."

Deols scrap remixes, opt for original 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' track

Yamla Pagla DeewanaDownload Y.P.D. wallpapers Though the Deols are not the producers of their new 'family' Yamla Pagla Deewana, they are going all out to make sure the film which features Sunny and Bobby Deol as the inimitable Dharmendra's sons, gets the best possible treatment, even if this means bending the golden no-favours-asked-though-plenty-always- given Deol rule. This time, the Deols known for their generosity in the industry actually asked for a favour themselves. They decided to spruce up Yamla Pagla Deewana by scrapping the remix version of the Mohd. Rafi classic song 'Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana' from the 1975 film Pratigya and replace it with the original. The rights were easy to be obtained since the 1975 blockbuster Pratigya was co-produced by Dharmendra's brother-in-law Bikram Singh Deol. Director Samir Karnik confirms this give-and-take of the chatpataa chartbuster song . "Yes, we have decided to use the original song instead of the remix. We asked many groups including the British-Asian Bhangra band RDB to give us a sparkling re-mix of the original song by Rafi saab. Frankly no one came up with anything even remotely as rumbustious and dumdaar as the original. So we decided to go with the real thing." Karnik admits it's all in the family. "Pratigya was produced by Dharamji's brother-in-law. So getting the rights for the 'Main Jat Yamla Pagla' song was not difficult. We'll also retain the RDB re-mix in the soundtrack."
