Apple Watch Series 3 could be launching in Q3 2017

A new report suggests that the next Apple Watch could make its way to users in the third quarter this year. The device would be manufactured by Quanta Computer, the same company that made the previous two generations of the smartwatch.

According to the Chinese media Economic Daily News (EDN), the two companies will be focusing on improving performance and battery life. Performance was a problem for the Apple Watch Series 2, so it only makes sense for Apple to focus on it. Telegram no longer supports Android 2.2, 2.3, and 3.0

Popular messaging app Telegram has quietly ended support for some older Android versions. A quick look at the FAQ section on the service’s website reveals that only Android 4.0 and up are now supported, meaning versions 2.2, 2.3, and 3.0 are no longer welcome.

The reason behind the move hasn’t been officially revealed, but it’s be reasonable to assume that the step has been taken to smoothly update the app with new features that require a newer level of API that comes with the new releases.

Those using the now unsupported Android versions have an option to use the service’s Web…

Older smartphones get locked out of WhatsApp

This New Year, WhatsApp was not an option for many people to send greetings to their friends and family. To add to their woes, alternative messenger apps were also not easy to find.

WhatsApp stopped working on a range of older smartphones on the New Year’s Eve. The Facebook-owned messaging app no longer supports smartphones running Android 2.2 Froyo, or older versions of Android, iPhones running iOS 6 or older, as well as the handful of smartphones running Windows Phone 7 or earlier version.

Although these are quite old operating systems — Android 2.2, for instance, was released in 2010 — many people still use smartphones that cannot be upgraded to a newer version. And as a result of this, they have lost access to WhatsApp. …

Oh nothing, just a terrifying snake eating another freaking snake on video

If there’s one thing more frightening than a large venomous snake, it’s a snake eating another snake. Gross.

But unfortunately in Australia, it happens.

Snake catchers Norman and Sally Hill caught sight of this eastern brown snake just helping itself to a carpet python, when they were called to a home near Ipswich in Queensland on Monday.

“We’ve never seen something like this before, it’s very rare any snake catcher gets an opportunity to witness something like this,” Norman Hill told AAP.

It was a few more hours until the snake was caught and removed from the house. The snake catchers politely waited for the reptile finish its meal. …

With 2016 gone, so is WhatsApp support for various operating systems

Once the final seconds of 2016 ran down and 2017 started, messaging app WhatsApp started implementing a previously announced plan to drop support for older smartphone operating systems. For example, those using iOS 6 or lower now can not use WhatsApp. Windows Phone 7 is no longer supported by the Facebook-owned app, nor are devices running Android 2.1 and Android 2.2.

Most of you out there don’t have to worry about this change since it affects handsets that not too many people are currently using. For example, iOS 6 is the last version of Apple’s mobile OS that runs the Apple iPhone 3GS. … – Source

ASUS ZenFone AR with Tango camera leaked by Qualcomm

It would appear that earlier rumors of an upcoming ASUS ZenFone with Google’s Tango augmented reality camera technology are very real. Processor maker Qualcomm has apparently put a blog post up a couple of days earlier than planned that not only confirms the ASUS ZenFone AR, but reveals a couple of details on the phone.

The blog post, which is dated Jan 4, 2017, says the ASUS ZenFone AR will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor on board. That’s a more powerful chip than the Snapdragon 652, which is inside the only current Tango-based phone on the market, the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro. The other big detail revealed in the blog post is that the ASUS ZenFone AR will also be the first Tango-based phone that will support Google’s Daydream View VR headset.

After that blog post leaked, Even Blass, the well known gadget leaker, used his @evleaks Twitter account to post renders of what he says is the ASUS ZenFone AR

We still don’t have any word on when it will go on sale or its price point, but we should learn a lot more from both ASUS and Qualcomm about the ZenFone AR later this week at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. We will be there with first-hand reports on what both company will be showing and talking about at the big event.
