While the Microsoft Lumia 950 is giving consumers a chance to experience Windows 10 firsthand, others are probably eager to see how its camera stacks up against the competition. Lumias, in general, have been renowned for their better-than-average qualities with their cameras, so its 20-megapixel snapper is no doubt garnering high-expectations already. Considering that we’ve been handling the phone in question for a few days now, capturing quite a bunch of images with its camera in the process, we’d like to share just some of the stuff in our current collection. Google’s Handwriting Input got its independent Play Store listing back in April and has since received very few updates. That’s why the latest version bump to 1.5 (and the subsequent 1.5.1 release) seemed to be significant and in fact, it added 5 new languages to the list of existing 82 languages. These are Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Hebrew, and Burmese.
You will have to download language packages if you choose any of these input methods inside the app, but once that’s done and enabled, you will be able to scribble on your screen in your language of choice and Handwriting Input will convert that into text in any app.

Microsoft has released a new app called AppComparison for Android. The purpose of this app is to show you how many of your existing Android apps are available on Windows Phone.
When you install the app, it scans your phone to find all the installed apps. Then it asks you to choose the category of apps you are most interested in. Then it will show you all the apps on Windows Phone that have a direct equivalent to the apps installed on your phone, or the nearest equivalent (HERE Maps for Google Maps, etc.).
As you can tell, not a lot of the Android apps have direct equivalents on Windows Phone, although you could find some similar ones. Unfortunately, even if the app does show a seemingly long list of identical or similar apps to the ones you have installed, it says nothing about the quality of those apps. Instagram, for example, is still in an extremely outdated beta stage on Windows Phone, Twitter app is also incredibly outdated, Snapchat doesn’t even have an app on Windows Phone, and neither does Google for any of its services.
The unfortunate side effect of this app then is that it further illustrates the massive gaps in terms of app quantity and quality between Android and Windows Phone, which doesn’t do Microsoft’s platform any favors. Microsoft had made a similar app in the past called ‘Switch to Windows Phone’ and it didn’t work so well back then, either.
Windows Phone has many strengths, and apps isn’t one of them. Microsoft would do well by focusing on the strengths than the weaknesses.

Ford wants to demonstrate to young drivers just how dangerous it can be to drive while under the influence of illegal drugs. So it paired with scientists at the Meyer-Hentschel Institute in Germany to create a “Drug Driving Suit” that recreates the physical impairment caused by drugs including cannabis, cocaine, heroin and MDMA (a.k.a “Molly”).

When strapped on, the suit creates tunnel vision with special goggles, plays random and distracting sounds through headphones, generates hand-tremors and adds weights that throw off balance. As you can see in the video above, even professional drivers found driving a car at slow speeds virtually impossible. Moreover, tasks as straightforward as catching a large ball proved difficult. …

Unfortunately for this unsuspecting girl, she is the rather unlucky recipient of this plane’s wrath. As soon as she throws the model plane up in the air, the toy aircraft makes an impressive flip before crashing right into her nose

A powerful new report by the New York Times is analyzing the deep sexism that cuts through Hollywood
Interviewing over 100 men and women in the industry, reporter Maureen Dowd traced movie history and gathered dozens of shocking anecdotes from numerous female directors and showrunners about their experience in the industry. Interestingly enough, Dowd notes the film world as we know it today that fails to give women a chance all started with Jaws in 1975.
“America fell in love with the blockbuster, and Hollywood got hooked on the cohort of 15-year-old boys,” she writes. “It has never wavered in this obsession, even though girls and women buy half the movie tickets and watch more TV series, and even though teenage boys are increasingly fixated on gaming.” …
