The Winklevoss twins can now run a bitcoin exchange (and, if they want, a bank)

They didn’t invent Facebook, but they are inventing a new bitcoin exchange

This is still a victory for Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, acidly dubbed “The Winklevii” by Mark Zuckerberg’s scornful character in the modern masterpiece of internet entrepreneurship, The Social Network

But as both the real and the fake Zuckerberg know, the Winklevoss twins — 6’5″ former Harvard crew team members — are relentless.

The two announced this week that New York state’s financial services department has approved their exchange, Gemini, as a limited liability trust.

Microsoft 950 XL vs Apple iPhone 6s Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note5: specs comparison

Microsoft just announced its brand new 5.7-inch Lumia 950 XL, a new addition to its smartphone portfolio. The thing that truly captures in this device is the liquid cooling tech that aims to put the leash on the on-board Snapdragon 810 chipset and prevent it from over-heating, which is an issue plaguing it.
The Lumia 950 XL has a pretty good specs sheet, to say the least. We won’t list all of the specs here, as these can be viewed by scrolling down. Apart from the raw technical data, you will certainly notice the two other rather notable headsets that we’ve … – Source

Motorola Moto X Pure Review

Introduction
If you haven’t noticed, the Motorola of today isn’t the same as the Motorola of the past. The company has gone through several changes over the course of the last few years, being notably gobbled up by Google back in 2012, only to be sold shortly later on to Lenovo. You’d think that the new Motorola, now a Lenovo company, would’ve been absorbed entirely and be given a clean slate, but it seems as though that’s not the case, as Lenovo’s influence is yet to have any profound presence in Motorola’s way of doing things.

Alleged Galaxy S7 Exynos chipset clocks record benchmarks

Samsung is hard at work optimizing the performance of its Exynos 8890, codenamed M1 Mongoose chipset that will likely make a cameo in the Galaxy S7, which in turn is rumored for release in February, a month earlier than this year, just as the Note5 got released earlier than usual.
A few benchmarks have already been leaked, showing performance on par with the existing 7420 in the S6 or Note5. This latest leak, however, puts to rest any worries that the chipset might not be the powerhouse we expect it to be.

FIFA fines Hong Kong for football fans booing the Chinese national anthem

The international body that governs association football has fined the Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) HK$40,000 (US$5,161) for Hong Kong fans jeering at the Chinese national anthem — which Hong Kong shares with the mainland.

FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) had warned the HKFA in early September, prompted by fans booing the anthem after a 2-3 loss by Hong Kong to Qatar during a World Cup qualifying match.

Tweeting from phones brings out the egomaniac in you

It’s a given that Twitter personalities differ from person to person, but what about from device to device?

A study in the Journal of Communication compares the nature of what and how we tweet from our phones versus web platforms. The research served to answer questions regarding the egocentricity, feminine/masculine language, negative/positive sentiments and agentic/communal traits of tweets and whether they occur more from one platform or another.

After a long sabbatical, Microsoft is prepping to finally reenter the mobile industry with a bang, or, more precisely, with two bangs – the oft-rumored Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. The company is said to skip a generational mark, jumping from Lumia 930 – its last flagship, made before writing off the whole Nokia acquisition – directly to 950, denoting a big shift in strategy.
There won’t be only the 5.2″ Lumia 950 and the 5.7″ 950 XL announced, though, and the phones might even take the backburner to the one and only Surface tablet, … – Source

It’s not the all-electric EV powertrain, or the kitchen appliance color-scheme and shape, that is novel, but rather what the car represents: it’s the first concept aimed exclusively at the digital native generation.

From concept to interior and exterior design, Teatro for Dayz is simple: a clean canvas.

At the heart of this generation’s interests — that Nissan calls “share natives” — is the culture of sharing experiences. As such, the car is a platform for individualization and sharingTeatro, from the Italian word for “theater,” is a connectivity device first and a mobility device second. …
