On Sunday, Shu Qin, a seven-year-old panda gave birth to a tiny cub, and the birth was recorded on film.
While the baby was squirming around making squeaky noises after making its way into the world, we can see Shu Qin’s motherly instincts kick in. She can be seen trying to bond with her new bub, picking it up with her mouth to keep the still hairless newborn warm and shielding it from the keepers.

Japanese telecoms conglomerate SoftBank is ready to buy British chip giant ARM for a cool 23.4 billion pounds ($30.9 billion).
The Financial Times reported the news in the early hours of Monday, citing two people close to the negotiations.
If it goes through, the deal will be the largest ever acquisition of a European tech company, noted the FT.

Carrier-branded devices always take a while to get their updates, so it wasn’t a surprise to see the WiFi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 get Android Marshmallow before AT&T’s. But things were a bit more annoying in this case because Verizon beat them by well over a month!
Don’t you worry, though, it is time for AT&T Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 users to celebrate, as the update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is now rolling out. All eyes are on Android Nougat as we approach the end of the year, but there is a lot to get from Marshmallow. Improvements include granular permissions, Google Now on Tap, adaptable storage, Doze mode and more. The update also comes with some device-specific improvements, such as the ability to make regular voice calls.

I’m using Amazon’s $60 BLU R1 HD Prime Exclusive smartphone for a month – my next post on it should go live this week. But using the phone got me wondering: how many Android enthusiasts would be willing to deal with lockscreen ads in exchange for a [steeply] discount smartphone?

Officially unveiled in June, the LG X mach and LG X max smartphones should both hit the market in the near future. Until that happens, LG released two promo videos – embedded below – that allow us to take a better look at the new handsets.
The first promo video highlights the fact that the LG X mach features support for LTE Cat. 9 3CA – this means that, theoretically, it can provide data transfer speeds of over 400 Mbps. The X mach also comes with a six-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, and a fingerprint scanner located on the rear.
