Saif Ali Khan to do Sujoy Ghoshs next
After the trailer of his recent film Happy Ending hit the web, we now hear that Saif Ali Khan has signed another film which will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film is an adaptation of a Japanese thriller novel titled The Devotion of Suspect X.
Though the film was announced months ago, many names of actors and actresses were being tossed around. The rights of the film had been acquired by Ekta Kapoor and she will be producing the film under her banner of Balaji Motion Pictures. Being one of the biggest blockbusters of Japan, there are chances of the film being remade in Hollywood too.
The story revolves around an intelligent mathematician and a single mother who is in desperate need of protecting her family, her daughter. In a defensive move when she ends up killing her abusive husband, it is her neighbor, the math teacher who comes to her rescue and devises a plot as a cover-up. However, the investigation is in the hands of a strong headed detective and he senses amiss and decides to uncover the truth. But the mystery deepens, when the cop decides to get an equally intelligent doctor on board for the investigation, who co-incidentally is the batchmate of the math teacher.
We hear that Saif Ali Khan has been approached to play the male lead in the film. However, the details of the rest of the cast are yet to be finalized.
