Report: iPhone 7 will get new touch-sensitive home button, killer camera

The days of failing home buttons on your iPhone could soon be over.

Corroborating previous rumors, Bloomberg reports the iPhone 7 will sport a new pressure-sensitive home button.

SEE ALSO: This iPhone 7 mock up looks like the real thing

The new button will not physically click, but will use haptic feedback technology — similar to the Force Touch and 3D Touch technology used in Apple’s new MacBook trackpads and the iPhone 6S — to simulate the feeling of a press.

There are several advantages to a capacitive home button. A touch-sensitive button that doesn’t actually depress when pressed is likely to have fewer mechanical parts, leading to a lower failure rate. This change could mean fewer people will fear mechanical breakdown, and thus won’t need to …

'Ancient Australia' is brought to life in jaw-dropping timelapse video

Photographer Kartikeya Sharma spent 10 months patiently collecting and curating stunning time-lapse footage for his video project, The Ancients. And boy, did it pay off.

The result is a five-minute ode to the overpowering beauty of remote Australia. In the video description, Sharma says that the shooting process involved a lot of “patience, despair and occasional dejection followed by optimism, hopefulness, face-offs with strong weather conditions and equipment breakdown during shooting process.”

‘The Night Of’ knocks the good boy out of Naz

By letting the characters get comfortable, The Night Of delivers its best episode yet.

The pieces of the plot have settled, and every side has chosen the best course of action. And without that initial drama of who will be Naz’s lawyer and how will he survive in prison, the characters can stretch out into their established lanes and show us what is possible in each. That turn showed us a scary transformation in Naz.

The competing lawyers side plot cleaned up pretty easily as Chandra enlisted John Stone to work with Crowe’s much more established law firm. From a story perspective, it was the easiest way for Stone to believably keep working this case. As we know from his adopting the cat, he can’t turn away from a stray. …

Disney and Lin-Manuel Miranda are a match made in Instagram heaven.

The artist took over Disney’s Instagram on Sunday in the best way possible: by singing his favorite Disney tunes. The Hamilton creator chose his music from such Disney hits as Rescue Rangers, Aladdin, Mulan, The Little Mermaid, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Newsies.

Crowdfunding project of the week: the COWAROBOT R1 is a suitcase that follows you

It’s Sunday! We are ready for a new week, but must first give you our featured crowdfunding project. In this article series we highlight some of the hottest crowdfunding campaigns from websites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Shall we jump right in?

Other featured campaigns:

The Superbook turns your smartphone into a laptopModobag is a luggage bag you can ride!Omnicharge battery pack

A couple weeks ago we talked about the Modobag, a suitcase you can ride around. But not everyone needs that kind of thrill, right? Sometimes you just want to worry about your emails when going through an airport. This is when the COWAROBOT R1 suitcase comes into play. This thing can literally follow you around. But it does so in a very smart way we haven’t seen before.

Previous attempts at making robotic luggage bags have been made, but they all seem pretty wonky. The COWAROBOT R1 aims to be a much more refined product. It will try to follow by your side and stay within your line of sight, as well as your hand’s reach. Its powerful motors allow it to travel at up to 4.5 miles per hour, while its battery will last for about 12.5 miles. That’s a long run!

But that is not quite the coolest part. It uses a technology named “CO-EYE”, which includes a set of sonar and cliff detection sensors. This system allows the unit to detect obstacles and drops (such as stairs); the suitcase will then effectively avoid them. Or you could go manual by simply touching the handle, which will make the powered tires go inside the bag.

The COWAROBOT R1 is controlled with two things: the included bracelet and the official smartphone app. The bracelet has a few functions. For starters, it is what the suitcase follows, so you want to make sure you have it at all times. It’s also possible to activate the “find me” function, lock/unlock bag compartments and get notifications. And because the bag comes with an integrated GPS, it can be easily located through the app.

Sounds like a traveler’s dream come true, right? I would still prefer the fun ride the Modobag offers, but the COWAROBOT R1 is definitely a treat, right? It’s surprisingly not too expensive. You can sign up for one for as low as $449 if you back the Indiegogo project right now. Who is getting one?
