What a teen's recent livestreamed suicide reveals about mental health and social media


On Dec. 30, Katelyn Nicole Davis turned on the livestreaming app Live.me at her home in Cedartown, Georgia, and broadcast her own suicide.


As that video spread across the internet and social media, it demonstrated how quickly technology can turn casual spectators into traumatized witnesses. The video also left those who encountered it online or through news reports wondering what would drive a young person — Davis was just 12 — to invite unsuspecting friends and strangers to watch a life vanish before their eyes.

Specifically, the Mate 9 is available in Space Gray color option with 64GB storage. As for pricing, it’s available on contract, with plans beginning from as low as £31.00 a month (£99.00 upfront.).


Coming to the Lenovo P2, it’s available in Grey color option with 32GB storage. Like the Mate 9, the P2 is also available on contract, with plans starting from £18.00 a month (no upfront).

Nougat roll out for HTC 10 halted due to bugs


HTC has halted the roll out of the Nougat update for its HTC 10 smartphone. The step was taken after the update was found to be buggy. This was seemingly revealed by the German subsidiary of the company on social media channels.


Exact details on the bugs isn’t known at the moment; also not known is when the roll out would resume.


HTC started pushing out the HTC 10 Nougat update towards November end. Recently, T-Mobile US rolled out the update to units on its network.

Jefferies lowers its estimates of Q4 postpaid net additions for Verizon, AT&T and Sprint


Wall Street securities house Jefferies has cut its fourth quarter postpaid net addition estimates for three of the largest carriers in the U.S. For example, Jefferies analysts now expect Big Red to have added 786,000 new postpaid customers in the three month period that ended last month. Previously, the trading house was expecting Verizon to add 943,000 postpaid subscribers in Q4. Postpaid churn is estimated to be 1.03% for the period, unchanged from the earlier forecast.

A private space company you probably don't know has enough money to land on the moon


A private company you probably haven’t heard of just announced that it has the money it needs to shoot for the moon, literally.


Moon Express — one of the teams competing to win the $30 million Google Lunar X Prize — says that it has now raised enough money to build, test and launch its uncrewed MX-1E spacecraft to the lunar surface before the end of this year.
