Selfie video earns arsonist 20 years in prison and $60 million fine


If you’re going to commit a crime, you probably shouldn’t record yourself doing it.


That’s the hard, welcome lesson learned by California idiot Wayne Allen Huntsman, who pleaded guilty on Friday to setting off King Fire, a 2014 blaze that chewed up 100,000 acres in northern California. He’s looking at 20 years in prison and a $60 million fine for having terrible selfie (and fire) judgmment.

Huntsman recorded video of himself at the 2014 wild fire’s point of origin. He proudly shows off the two small forest fires that he stands between, adding, “I’m stuck in the middle, babe.” …

It’s something that Snezhana Soosh wanted to honor in a series of lovely watercolor paintings dedicated to the relationship between a father and a daughter. She shared the imaginative art on her Instagram account.

Former Saints DE Will Smith shot to death in New Orleans


Former Saints defensive end Will Smith was shot and killed following an altercation sparked by a vehicle collision Saturday night in New Orleans, according to a Times-Picayune report. He was 34.


A woman he was traveling with was wounded in the double shooting, the paper reported. Two law enforcement sources and a person with the team told the Times-Picayune that the victims were Smith and his wife.

The couple was driving their Mercedes when they were rear-ended by a Hummer H2 around 11:30 p.m. Saturday in New Orleans, police said. The crash caused Smith’s car to hit another vehicle. …

Edge will soon block non-essential Flash content on the page


Microsoft has announced that the future versions of Edge will be less tolerant to stray Flash content on web pages.


The browser will soon be updated to automatically pause all non-essential Adobe Flash content on the page; this includes animations and ads. Only essential content, such as videos and games will play automatically. This will reduce power consumption and improve performance, especially on tablets and ultrabooks.


Last year, Google announced a similar change in Chrome, and later dropped support for Flash ads entirely couple of months back.

Paul Walker's daughter wins $10.1 million settlement


Paul Walker’s daughter, Meadow, has been awarded more than $10.1 million in a settlement over his death in a car crash in 2013.


On Saturday, TMZ reported Walker’s only daughter had received a settlement in 2014 from the estate of Roger Rodas, a friend of her father’s and the driver of the car at the time of the accident. The settlement has only been made public now.


Rodas was also killed in the crash, when the Porsche Carrera GT they were traveling in crashed into a tree and burst into flames in Santa Clarita, California, on Dec. 1, 2013.

Last Thursday, 27-year old Michael Banks had an idea. He wanted to climb the 600-foot Morro Rock in central California, and using the FaceTime feature on his iPhone, propose to his girlfriend. While Banks managed to climb the rock and make the proposal, things went downhill from there.


According to Morro Bay fire Capt. Todd Gailey, Banks took a “much steeper” path heading back down the rock than he took on the way up.
