Anker's Roav Dashtop augmented driving HUD up for preorder, much cheaper than Navdy

Anker, the makers of all things charging and accessorizing, have unveiled their own take on the nascent Augmented Driving phenomenon, called the Roav Dashtop. It’s still basically a Heads-up Display (HUD) for your car that connects with your phone, yet it differs from its main competitor Navdy in a couple of important areas, not the least of which is price.
While Navdy costs $799, but still mostly uses your phone for connectivity, Roav is more of a standalone HUD computer with LTE modem and 32 GB of storage, going for $399 ($299 for the Wi-fi only model). … – Source

Pizza delivered by drone? It's been done for real in New Zealand

Look, we’ll admit we had our doubts about the wonderfully convenient idea of drone pizza deliveries. But Domino’s Pizza says it’s done it for real this time.

The chain said it made its first commercial delivery in New Zealand to an actual, real human customer on Wednesday at 11:19 a.m. local time. And egads! The drone delivery was even approved by the country’s civil aviation authority.

How a Kiwi designer made a Maori-inspired premiere gown for 'Moana' star

Moana will feature Disney’s first Polynesian princess, so you’d hope the film remains true to the cultures of Polynesia, both on and off the screen.

For the premiere, Kiwi fashion designer Kiri Nathan adhered to Kawa and Tikanga (protocols of Māori customs and ethics) when creating a dress for the voice actor playing Moana, Auli’i Cravalho.

A cobalt blue gown, it was inspired by the waves of the ocean and elements from Polynesian traditional design.

In this video, Nathan and Cravalho explain each intricate design detail — an appropriate and sartorially flawless homage to Māori culture.
