This is 2016's best travel photograph, says National Geographic


A horseback rider charging from the morning mist is the star of this year’s National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year selection.


The stunning image, titled “Winter Horseman,” was taken by Hong Kong photographer Anthony Lau on a recent trip to Mongolia. After an early hike, Lau and his friends were heading back to their hotel when they spotted a group of riders.


“I knew I only had a couple of shots to get the best out of this encounter,” Lau told National Geographic. “With a bit of luck, one of my final attempts managed to capture the moment when one of the riders charged out from the morning mist along with his horses.” …

New Galaxy Note7 leak confirms USB Type-C port


While it has been rumored earlier, a new leak – which comes in the form of an image from accessory maker Olixar – has now confirmed the presence of a USB Type-C port on Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note7 smartphone.


The port is located at the bottom of the handset, as is usually the case, with a loudspeaker and S-Pen slot on its one side, and a headphone jack on the other. The image also reveals that the phone will feature an iris scanner, something which has already been confirmed by a separate leak.

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Edition unveiling set for next week


While we already know that Samsung will soon out an Olympic Edition variant of its Galaxy S7 edge smartphone, the exact date wasn’t known. That, however, changes now as it has been made official that the device will be unveiled next week – July 7 to be precise.


We’ve already seen the device in question (shown below) – it has the same specs as the standard Galaxy S7, but should bring some Olympic-themed goodies.

BlackBerry's days with the U.S. Senate are coming to an end


A notice sent throughout the U.S. Senate reveals that once the Senate’s inventory of BlackBerry handsets is depleted, the brand will no longer be available to those staff members who are allowed a new phone as a perk. Those staffers who currently own a ‘Berry can exchange it for a 16GB Apple iPhone SE or a Samsung Galaxy S6.
