Justin Trudeau’s shocking victory unseated the Conservative government that has led the nation for the past decade.
“Tonight Canada is becoming the country it was before,” Trudeau told a victory rally in Montreal after the results were announced on Monday night, alluding to the nation’s return to its liberal roots. “We beat cynicism with hard work. We beat negative, divisive politics with a positive vision that brings Canadians together.”
