The day we’ve been waiting for is finally here—the ad-free YouTube Red service is a reality. Well, technically it will be a reality in a week on October 27th, but we’ve got all the details now. For $9.99 per month you’ll never see another ad on YouTube, and it includes a number of other cool perks.



YouTube Red will include an ad-free experience on all videos, offline saving, and background playback.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is an upgrade from the Pro 3, but it’s not perfect.

The Pro 4 is looks almost identical to its predecessor, but it’s thinner while still retaining the full-size USB port. The 3K screen is bigger, and with Windows Hello, you can use the camera to log in with your face. The New Type cover is the best Surface keyboard so far, but it’s not the most reliable, a.k.a. it doesn’t always work like it’s supposed to.


It’s the first Surface made for Windows 10, so it’s still missing some features like browser extensions and Edge. The Wi-Fi connection is also spotty. The Pro 4 is light and super transportable, but if you want to get into the nitty gritty, check out the unboxing video above and read Mashable’s …

China starts building its largest electric car solar charging complex

Beijing has started construction of the country’s largest solar charging station, capable of charging 80 electric cars per day.


The official Xinhua agency said (link in Chinese) Beijing has put 15 million yuan (US$2.36 million) toward building the complex, which is expected to be operational by the end of the year.

It will have 30 fast-charge points, capable of charging a car to full power within 40 minutes, and 20 slow-charge points that will charge a car in two hours.

Now, the final build of the new MIUI 7 is set to roll out on October 27th via OTA on supported devices. If they’re kidding us, it’s going to be devastating


On Tuesday night, Nike’s Twitter account seemed to suggest the company would be doing something special to celebrate Back to the Future day on Wednesday, Oct. 21, pinging the film’s star, Michael J. Fox


The Internet’s immediate conclusion: It would be bringing out a pair of the light-up Nike sneakers Marty McFly dons in the cult film, complete with automatic laces.
