Ajay Devgn returns to Power; dates being worked out with rest of the cast
An emergency meeting bringing together the principal stars of Power is on anvil this week to get the troubled project moving again. It is reliably learnt that producer Feroz Nadiadwala and director Raj Kumar Santoshi will be getting together the A-listers under the same roof to avoid all confusion over dates.
Says a source, "It often happens that stars in a multi-starrer agree individually to allotting dates for shooting with their co-stars. But later they completely back out. With Ajay Devgn back in the project, the makers of Power want to avoid all confusion regarding the stars' dates before they start shooting." Ajay Devgn is in. Ajay Devgn is out...In....Out...In! Finally, Devgn whom director Raj Kumar Santoshi met recently, has agreed to return to Power, but at a price. Says a source, "Santoshi met Devgn. The star has agreed to return to the project because of his very close association with Santoshi over The Legend Of Bhagat Singh, Halla Bol and Lajja." However, the hitch now is, how to get the other actors to co-ordinate their dates with Devgn? Says a source very close to the project, "Mr Amitabh Bachchan,Sanjay Dutt and Anil Kapoor are very busy stars.Their dates were taken for Power and wasted because of the problems with Devgn's remuneration and dates. Now Devgn's dates have to be co-ordinated with the others." Big B who is shooting another film Aarakshan for the same producer as Power is expected to adjust his dates between the two projects. But Sanjay Dutt and Anil Kapoor are apparently committed to other projects. Says Santoshi, "We'll only proceed when all the stars are with us. We're having a meeting with the stars shortly."
