John, Imran and Genelia in Abbas Tyrewala's Jaane Kya Tune Kahi

Abbas TyrewalaAbbas Tyrewala's second film Jhootha Hi Sahi has not even released as yet and the director is already preparing to start his next film titled Jaane Kya Tune Kahi. The film would be Abbas' third directorial venture thereby completing what he calls his romance trilogy. While Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na was a romance between college friends, Jhootha Hi Sahi is a love story among friends, who are just into their first jobs. His third film of this romantic series Jaane Kya Tune Kahi will be a more matured love story. As for the casting, Abbas has managed a coup of sorts for his third film, for he has Imran Khan and Genelia D'Souza (his stars from Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na) and John Abraham (his actor from Jhootha Hi Sahi) for Jaane Kya Tune Kahi. Abbas has already started scripting for the film, and the pre-production of the film is already rolling. Abbas seems to have an affinity to romantic films set amongst a gang of friends. Incidentally, the titles of all his 3 films have been popular songs of the yesteryears.

Farah's triplets reluctantly shoot for Tees Maar Khan

Farah KhanFarah Khan's kids - Diva, Czar and Anya - have perhaps not been bitten by the glamour world yet. Even though they were enticed enough to face the camera by their mother Farah Khan (who is the one of the most unabashed 'masala' film lover that Bollywood boasts of today), the triplets weren't excited enough. This resulted in a funny shoot for Tees Maar Khan when the director (softly) called 'action'. "Poocho mat. I guess the toughest part of my shoot was to capture my kids well on camera", Farah says in her inimitable manner, "Shirish and my production house is called 'Three's Company' because of these three kids. As is the tradition with my films, I wanted to feature them for the end credit title roll of Tees Maar Khan. However, they just didn't seem interested." What followed was quite some 'improvisation' that the Diva, Czar and Anya indulged in. "Here I was pampering them with all the nice dresses and goodies. There was a special tuxedo that I had got designed for Czar. On the other hand, my daughters Diva and Anya were made to wear these beautiful birthday party dresses", informs Farah, "While they were getting all dressed up, they were all fine and smiling. However, when I wanted them to put on their best show for camera, they just walked around at their own will." "Guess my famed command didn't quite work with my own kids this time around", she jokes, "The kind of expression that the three of them had on their faces, they seemed to be wondering who these monkeys behind the camera were." Eventually, Farah and Co. decided to retain the shots as is to lend a natural feel to the entire proceeding. "I was glad that the film's shooting had come to an end", she smiles. Would she care to reveal these pictures for audience to know what to expect from the kids? "Well, watch the film for that", she responds.

"Anjaana Anjaani is releasing on Oct 1. Period " - Siddharth Anand

Siddharth AnandIf Siddharth Anand is exasperated; he is making an honest attempt not to show it. After spending a couple of years on Anjaana Anjaani and then patiently spending a week in anticipation of his much cherish dream to finally release after a forced postponement, he was shocked to hear about the root cause - 'Court judgement on Ayodhya issue' - being deferred. Tongues started wagging all over again and there were murmurs that the makers would be looking at further movement in the release plans. While producer Sajid Nadiadwala has already announced that there won't be any change in plans with the Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer all set for 1st October release, Siddharth too is vociferous about the flip-flop that was never a part of the plan. "Anjaana Anjaani is not moving ahead at all. 1st October is the best time for the film to arrive. Period", exclaims Siddharth the moment he is questioned about the release plans for Anjaana Anjaani, his first film outside Yash Raj Films banner. He is also amused with the way the entire series of events have unfolded. "First we moved because it seemed almost certain that the verdict would be announced on 24th September. Now when the Court says that they would be meeting again on 28th September, I am almost certain that the case would be further deferred. I guess enough is enough. Why to hold on to our concrete release plans to make way for some external decision which is anyways so uncertain", asks Siddharth with a hint of irritation on his voice. In fact many even believe that the case may continue for a much longer period of time, courtesy the ongoing battle that the nation is anyways facing with the CWG mess. With quite some machinery already in charge of the CWG security, Kashmir going through its own persistent issues and floods impacting movement in the Northern part of India, the Government can't be expected to announce verdict on Ayodhya issue and entice further reactions. "We have anyways been ashamed enough due to CWG so I am almost sure that the nation can't really afford any verdict of sorts which is bound to have sentimental values attached for citizens of the country", Siddharth reasons, "In my opinion, this judgement could well be heading for an out of court settlement. While country's esteemed knowledgeable people of up there with decision making capabilities doing their own thing, we are taking our step towards the release of Anjaana Anjaani." Looks like the makers have pretty much made up their minds this time around!

Is Guzaarish inspired by Spanish film The Sea Inside?

The first look promo of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's highly anticipated Hrithik-Aishwarya starrer Guzaarish was unveiled earlier this week. While the promo is quite splendid to say the least, the film does bear some resemblance to a 2004 Spanish film called The Sea Inside which is based on a true story of a sailor Ramdon Sampredo who becomes a quadriplegic following an accident. In Guzaarish, the buzz is that Hrithik, who plays a magician, ends up in a wheelchair because of an accident that happens when a magic trick goes wrong. Bhansali's earlier films such as Black was also inspired from The Miracle Worker while Saawariya was loosely based on a Russian short story 'White Nights'. While neither Bhansali nor his lead actors were in any mood to reveal even a bit about the story of Guzaarish at the launch event, going by the promos of the two films, there is no denying that there is some similarity between Guzaarish and The Sea Inside.

Association of Doctors to promote Khichdi - The Movie

The hilarious promo of Khichdi- The Movie is creating waves. Apparently, a group of doctors had approached the actor-producer JD Majethia to congratulate him for his efforts to make a light hearted family movie as humour always aids good heath. Now JD Majethia has organized for a special screening for the doctor's association on September 26, Sunday in Mumbai. Apparently, the doctors after watching the promos were of the opinion that the movie will help in reducing stress and in turn can promote good health. It can help in reliving stress through laughter. The comedy in the film is absolutely clean without double meaning or any vulgarity, making it ideal for family viewing. The association of doctors has now decided to promote Khichdi- The Movie to everyone as it will have many positive effects on health of the general public. JD Majethia says, "Thanks to the doctors who willingly wish to promote our movie which can be enjoyed with the whole family together. We have arranged for a special screening for the doctor's association this weekend." Khichdi - The Movie releases on Oct 1.

Gay kissing and love-making scenes banned by censor board

Dunno Y… Na Jaane KyunThe scandal-prone new film Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyun has gotten itself into trouble with the Censor Board. Blurbs boasting that it is Indian cinema's first gay love story have apparently not encouraged the censors to loosen up and act liberated. The Censor Board has clamped down heavily on the love-making sequences between the film's leading man Kapil Sharma and the Delhi-based model Yuvraaj Parasher who plays Sharma's lover. Apparently the film, which also features stalwarts Zeenat Aman and Helen, is carpeted with smooching and love-making sequences between the two guys. There is also a lingering gay love-making scene which goes all the way. It apparently had the ladies in the Censor Board walking off in a moral huff and eventually asking the film's director Sanjay Sharma to delete the torrid kissing sequence and the love-making sequence. The film's leading man who says he's straight in real life, is appalled by the hypocrisy of the Censor Board. "Why should the Censors be scandalized if two men are kissing and making love? My sequences with my screen partner go as far as the scenes showing a guy and girl doing it in our films. And let me tell you, some of these heterosexual sequences are extremely vulgar. The ones in my film are very aesthetic. And so what if it's two men making love? Love is love regardless of gender." The film's makers have now submitted their film to the revising committee where they hope the ostensibly objectionable sequences will be reviewed. Says Kapil, "The Censor Board objected to the kissing and love-making scenes. They asked us to delete them. We refused. We aren't trying to create any kind of sleazy stuff here. Ours is the first ever serious gay love-story. The intimacy is essential. Our film is now with the revising committee." This isn't the first mainstream film to show intimacy between two men. In Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion, there was masculine passion in the form of a kiss between Samir Soni and his screen partner. Bhandarkar voluntarily snipped it out. Sudipto Chattopadhyay's Pankh had a smooch between Maradona Rebello and his screen partner. In Onir's I Am Rahul Bose and Arjun Mathur play a gay couple and have a kissing sequence. Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyun is the first film to show a gay love-making sequence. Defends Kapil Sharma, "It is sensual and bold, but not at all vulgar. It's like any lovemaking between a guy and a girl. Why should we delete it?" Yuvraaj Parasher who has gone nude for the camera plays Sharma's gay partner . He adds, "I feel cinema and the audience have changed. I never wanted to make my debut as a collegian wooing a chick on a bike. When I was selected to play gay in the audition, I was elated. I'd rather do something unconventional." Speaking about making love to a guy on camera, Yuvraaj says, "It was awkward. After doing it with Kapil we avoided each other. Finally we looked at one another and burst laughing." Maybe Rituparno Ghosh who constantly has a problem casting his gay characters should meet these two guys.
