Saif Ali Khan pledges Rs 20 lakhs for athletes participating in Olympics

Oct 07, 11:55AM

Actor turned producer Saif Ali Khan has always had a soft corner for sports since he hails from the family of the legendary cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi (Saif's father). It was surely surprising to see that while many Bollywood actors dipping their hands into sports like cricket, football and kabaddi by investing time and money in the kind of sports that they are interested in, Saif, on the other hand, remained a silent spectator to all these happenings. However, now, the actor has gone on record to show his support for athletes.

Recently, when Saif Ali Khan felicitated winners of Asian games, the actor also announced his association with Olympic Gold Quest. The actor has decided to contribute a whopping Rs. 20 lakhs for athletes who have the potential to win at the Olympic Games. Confirming his association and elaborating on working towards the development of these athletes, Saif Ali Khan also mentioned that he will continue to contribute for these sports every year as much amount as he can afford.

Also while sports films and biopics are the flavor of the season, Saif Ali Khan expressed a very different point of view saying that these films are entertaining and they should remain that way because films are for entertainment and not to spread awareness.

Saif Ali Khan who co-produces films along with his partner Dinesh Vijan is currently busy wrapping up his film Happy Ending which stars Ileana D'Cruz, Kalki Koechlin and is directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. He is also completing the Kabir Khan directorial Phantom starring Katrina Kaif.

Alia Bhatt in Malaga shooting for an ad

Oct 07, 10:29AM

The very lovely Alia Bhatt is in a holiday-cum-work mood. After her long European schedule of Vikas Bahl's Shaandaar, Alia took time off for a Holiday with friends in England.

Now Alia Bhatt has gone off to far-off exotic Malaga in Spain, a small and picturesque town known mainly for its fondness for football.

Says a friend of Alia's, "She is shooting for an ad in Malaga. But Alia is also making the time to check out the local fun spots."

Says the stunning actress, "All my films before Shaandaar were shot in India. Highway and 2 States were very desi films. Highway gave me a chance to see the remotest areas of our own country. Now with Shaandaar and the ad that I'm shooting I am traveling in Europe. It's a learning experience."

Curiously one hears from Alia's crew that the locals of Malaga seem aware of who Alia Bhatt is.

Was that Karan Johar's or Imtiaz Ali's doing?

Aishwarya knows Happy New Year is extremely important to Abhishek."But she also knows that Diwali at home is an annual occasion that requires Abhishek's presence. She will be representing her husband at Jalsa for Diwali, while he attends the premiere" says the source.

Ayushmann Khurranas Hamara Bajaj renamed as Agra Ka Daabra

Oct 06, 12:59PM

When Ayushmann Khurrana made his debut in Bollywood with Vicky Donor along with John Abraham's production and Shoojit Sircar as the director, the trio decided to make yet another film together titled Hamara Bajaj. Despite the fact that John Abraham, Shoojit Sircar and Ayushmann Khurrana, later got busy with other projects, the film was always on the cards until a title controversy turned it all topsy-turvy.

Apparently the automobile company Bajaj Group decided to take legal action against the makers for using the tagline of their scooter commercials, 'Hamara Bajaj', as a part of their film's title. This ongoing battle led to a delay and the cast and crew moved on to other projects. But now, the makers have finally narrowed down on the title Agra Ka Daabra. Talking about the connection, Ayushmann revealed that his character which was initially named Sanjay Bajaj will now have Daabra as his last name. Also further elaborating on the Agra connection, the actor mentioned that the film will be extensively shot in the city accompanied by a small shooting schedule in Mumbai too. Being an avid reader, Battle of Bittora was Sonam Kapoor's first choice for an on screen adaptation and she even announced that a film on it is on the cards.

Now that she has found the royal prince in the form of Pakistani actor Fawad Afzal Khan (Khoobsurat), we hear that the actor will once again be paired with Anil Kapoor's daughter in this film. As mentioned before, Fawad Khan will be seen in the role of a politician belonging to a royal family named Zain Altaf while Sonam Kapoor will play the role of Sarojini Pandey. Set against the backdrop of election campaigns, Battle of Bittora is a passionate love story where rivals fall in love. Jinni, a young and independent girl working to fulfill her dreams at an animation studio, suddenly gets entangled in a web of politics, after her dominating grandmother drags her off the simple life to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Bittora.

The film in question will be produced by Rhea Kapoor under the banner Anil Kapoor Productions.

Sonam Kapoor is currently busy with the shooting of Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo where she plays a wealthy princess opposite Salman Khan.
