Salman parties all night long with his Dabangg team

Salman Khan
On Sunday evening, Sonakshi Sinha showed up for the Dabangg party post-midnight with one of her twin bothers, while earlier in the evening Sonakshi's mother Punam Sinha was escorted by her other twin brother. Confused by the identical twins' double entry into the venue of the party, Salman insisted on calling each of the Sinha twins 'Luv-Kush'. Says an onlooker, "Salman earlier saw one of the twins walk in with Mrs. Sinha (for the record it was Luv Sinha who escorted his mom). Then much later after midnight, long after Mrs. Sinha had left with her son, Sonakshi walked in with another twin (Kush Sinha). So Salman played it safe and referred to them separately as 'Luv-Kush'. Says a source close to Dabangg, "Whenever Salman sees either of Sonakshi's brothers, he calls him 'Luv-Kush' just to be on the safe side. Though the two of them are dissimilar in many ways, Salman is constantly confused about which Sinha twin is who. So no matter which twin he sees he calls him by both names." From Sunday evening, Salman Khan and his Dabangg gang partied until 7 am on Monday morning. At the Vie lounge in Juhu, Salman and the Dabangg team couldn't stop dancing to the 'Munni' track with each and every guest .Among the non-Dabangg gang who dropped in, there was Aamir Khan, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and David Dhawan. At around 2 am when the party was over at Vie, Salman suggested they all go to his home in Bandra to continue the party. Says Sonu Sood, "It was basically Salman's non-film friends and just some of us from the Dabangg team...Sonakshi, me and a few others who accompanied Salman home. We stayed there until around 4 am. After that Salman took us to a builder-friend's house. We finally wrapped up at 7 am." In fact the party started on Sunday afternoon when Ramesh Taurani had thrown a brunch party for his wife's brother's wedding. Says Sonu, "I'm not much of a party-goer. And I don't drink at all. But I must say the Dabangg party and especially the after-party at Salman's place made me feel very special. Salman has taken me under his wings. He says I should watch my steps and I'll be doing well for myself in a year. That evening he also presented me a Being Human watch." At Salman's home more plans were made for Dabangg 2. Says Sood, "I suggested my twin brother's character should be called Safedi Singh with the line, 'Safedi ki chamatkar door-door tak phaili hai'. Salman loved it. Our director Abhinav Kashyap has already started writing the sequel."

Vidya Balan doing cameo in Thank You?

Vidya BalanAnees Bazmee is super busy shooting his next comedy Thank You starring Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Suniel Shetty, Celina Jaitly and Sonam Kapoor. The crew shot extensively in Canada recently. As expected, it'll be a comic film from Bazmee. If the aforementioned starcast wasn't enough, director Anees Bazmee has now decided to add one more star to this already star studded film. Our sources reported that Vidya Balan recently shot for the film in Mumbai. Vidya however will be seen only in a cameo role as Akshay Kumar's wife in Thank You. When Bollywood Hungama spoke to Anees Bazmee, he refused to comment on this. With so much star power, Thank You definitely is one film to look forward to.

Sin City inspiration for Allah Ke Banday

There is Hollywood inspiration for Bollywood's very own Allah Ke Banday which is aiming for a late October release. Since the film is a gritty tale of children taking to crime, it required an edgy narrative for itself. While debutant writer-director-actor Faruk Kabir promises that and a lot more in his dramatic affair, he has also created a graphic music video to lend out the right mood and feel of the film. The song is titled 'Maula' and has been self confessedly designed on the same lines as Hollywood's graphic tale Sin City (2005). "'Maula' is a visual interpretation of reality and through this song, I am giving a visual treat to my audience", says Faruk who has patiently waited for a while before his debut flick became a reality by itself, "My target audience is youth and being a 28 year old myself, I am a part of this generation. I am making a contemporary film about today and for that I have lend an edgy hardcore energy to it. The music video of 'Maula' has a lot of attitude to it and for that the graphic tone of Sin City came in handy." When released, Sin City had met with instant diverse reactions due to the graphic nature of violence and sex. The film, though carrying a comic undertone to it, was mainly for the adult segment of audience and went on to become a cult flick over a period of time. In fact it stands amongst one of the most studied movies of all times and had led to quite a few cheap imitations globally with far lesser success. "Ours is a tribute to that genre though", Faruk is quick to add, "You would see a distinct (Quentin) Tarantino touch to it, something which was a conscious approach. Of course the video is quite real and disturbing so it has to be seen with caution. I don't mind that though; after all it was intentional." Making of this video was a challenge in itself for Faruk and his team, more so because Faruk is playing the double role of a director and actor here. "The whole video has been shot on croma where we have created the entire backdrop pretty meticulously", informs Faruk, "The video features Sharman and myself. Technically, it was a very challenging exercise and the song took around six months to be totally ready. While three months went into pre-production, the same amount of time went into post production as well." While Chirantan Bhatt has scored music for this song, Sarim Momin has written the lyrics. However, this is not the only music video that Faruk has shot for his flick. "That's right", says Faruk, "We have shot another music video with Kailash Kher. It is an association with UNICEF. This one took its own time to be done since it features children." Whoever said that it was a child's play to make a film!

Raajneeti's screenplay goes to Oscar archives

RaajneetiWhat can be better than having your film 'acknowledged' not just within the country, but also overseas! Its case with director Prakash Jha, who is obviously on cloud nine, as his film Raajneeti's screenplay has been chosen for the Oscar archives. Raajneeti, for starters, was a political thriller which starred Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal and others. Jha, recently, has been approached by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, to acquire the copy of the screenplay of the film, for their permanent core collection. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is the world's premiere movie-related organization which is best known for its annual Oscar awards celebrations. The scripts in their collection are made available to all for research purposes only and in the premises of their reading room. Other Indian screenplays that have made it to the Oscar archives include Rock On!, Heroes, Lagaan, Devdas, Munnabhai M.B.B.S., Kal Ho Naa Ho, Chak De! India, Sarkar Raj and Gandhi My Father.

Ali Zafar looks through Katrina Kaif

Ali ZafarIt seems Pakistan's pop icon Ali Zafar, who is now in Mumbai to pursue a career in movies, has a lot of catching up to do on the who's who of the film industry. Last week at a party, he failed to recognize Katrina Kaif although she is his co-star in the Yash Raj film that Ali has signed. Last week Katrina spotted Ali whom she had seen and liked in Tere Bin Laden at a party. Knowing they were scheduled to work together Katrina enthusiastically approached Ali...only to be greeted with a polite but bank smile. Says an eyewitness, "Ali clearly didn't recognize Katrina. Though he was polite, he had a quizzical who-are-you look on his face. It was an embarrassing moment for Katrina. But she handled it with aplomb. She introduced herself as her co-star in the Yash Raj film that they were doing, welcomed him to Mumbai and walked off." When asked about this embarrassing incident Katrina shrugged it off with a laugh, "It's true. Ali looked at me quite strangely at the party last week. What's the big deal? He's new to Bollywood. It will take him time to know everyone. I've been here for four years. I still don't know everyone." The story doesn't end there. It seems Katrina had load of fun at Ali's expense the day after the party incident. Letting out a prankster's chuckle, Katrina says, "I met Ali at the Yash Raj office a day after the party. I went up to him and said I hope he recognizes me." Ali of course didn't know where to look. Hopefully, now he won't have a problem recognizing Katrina since they're shooting together non-stop.
