Leaked Microsoft Lumia 850 renders show a thin, metallic Windows 10 smartphone that might be coming soon

Months before Microsoft announced the Lumia 950 XL, Lumia 950, and Lumia 550 as its first Windows 10 smartphones, we heard that the company was also working on a Lumia 750 and a Lumia 850. Since the 750 and 850 weren’t unveiled at the same time with the 950 XL, 950, and 550, some believed that they may have been cancelled. However, according to @OnLeaks, the Lumia 850 is still part of Microsoft’s plans.

Interestingly, it’s said that the Lumia 850 is built around a metal frame, and measures 155.9 x 77.23 x 6.92, thus becoming the thinnest Lumia smartphone to date. Assuming that these dimensions … – Source

A member of One Direction got a real life tattoo on 'The Late Late Show'

For their last Late Late appearance, One Direction played dodgeball. It was hilarious, beautiful and awe-inspiring. This time, show host James Corden convinced Harry, Niall, Liam and Louis to play Tattoo Roulette, a game that looks more like Deal Or No Deal and results in a member of 1D getting an actual real life permanent tattoo in front of a live studio audience

Niall, who is yet to allow needle and ink anywhere near his pure Irish skin, did not enjoy the experience, whilst the other One Direction members took a slightly more devil-may-care kind of attitude. Only one could lose (or win), only one One Direction member would get a tattoo. But who? …

Telltale, Warner Bros. and DC working on a Batman game

Telltale Games has revealed that it is working on a Batman game with Warner Bros. and DC Comics.

The game will be released on consoles, PC, Mac, and mobile devices. It will be in the same episodic format that Telltale games are known for. The name is yet to be announced and the game will release some time in 2016. A teaser trailer will be released next week.

“At Telltale, we’ve been honored to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year,” said Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. “This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy.”

“Telltale has an established track record of creating award-winning content for some of the best properties in the world,” said David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “We look forward to working with the team as they deliver a new interactive way for fans and gamers to experience the rich narrative world of Batman.”

With Warner Bros. being involved, it’s clear this is not purely just a Batman game but will likely tie in with the movie set to release early next year. We can probably expect the game to release some time…

Pantone selects two colors of the year to represent gender equality

Forget rose gold, the newest color trend is Rose Quartz.

The pale pink color is one of the two colors Pantone — the global authority on color — has chosen as the colors of 2016. The second color, a cool pale blue shade called Serenity — blends with the warm pink hue of Rose Quartz to create a gentle, calming effect.

This is the first time that the company has released two colors of the year, dating all the way back the first color of the year in 2000.

In a press release, Pantone said its decision to elect two colors of the year for 2016 was a statement motivated by a push toward gender equality and fluidity in modern society. …

TV binging, exercise skipping linked to poor cognitive function

(credit: Aaron Escobar/Wikimedia Commons)

Passing on the gym to snuggle on the couch and binge watch whole seasons of your favorite show this weekend may not bode well for your brain.

In a 25-year study that tracked more than 3,000 young adults into midlife, researchers found that those with the highest television watching and lowest physical activity scored worse on certain cognitive tests than their fit, less TV-addicted counterparts. In particular, couch potatoes had slightly lower brain processing speeds and worse executive function, but they scored just as well as other participants on verbal memory tests. The findings, reported in JAMA Psychiatry, may suggest that such bad TV and exercise habits early in life could set people up for faster cognitive decline in later life, the authors said.

However, the researchers can only speculate on cognitive decline for now, because they only tested cognitive skills at the end of the 25 years—not at the beginning. Therefore, it’s possible that participants with slightly lower cognitive function scores at the end of the study had those same low scores at the start and just enjoy spending lots of time lounging in front of glowing screens. Researchers can’t tell from the data as is.

McLaren's MP4-X is a hybrid, shape-shifting race car from the future

Today is a big day for both sides of the McLaren car business. While the consumer arm of the company is debuting its new 675LT Spider, the racing arm, responsible for the Formula 1 team, is showing off a futuristic concept of a race car.

Either way, it’s a good day to be a car fan.

The concept race car is called the MP4-X and, as you can see, it’s very sleek indeed. And that’s part of the idea. Intriguingly, McLaren brags that the concept’s chassis “changes shape” to “adapt to different aerodynamic demands.” Granted, it doesn’t say how exactly the chassis shift takes place, but we like the idea nonetheless. …
