LONDON — France’s controversial burkini ban has dominated the headlines since authorities in several towns on France’s Mediterranean coast imposed a ban on the burkini — a swimsuit that covers the torso, limbs and head.

While worldwide condemnation abounds, one British man has just turned the burkini debate on its head in the most British way possible.
In a (very polite) letter to the editor, Henry Stewart of London told The Guardian that suits should be banned instead of burkinis, burqas and hijabs, because he deems men in suits more dangerous. …

A few months after the $999 model of the Chromebook Pixel 2 went out of stock permanently, Google has stopped selling the $1,299 variant as well, effectively discontinuing the product.
The computer, which was launched back in March last year, is no longer available from the Google Store as well as the retailers that have been selling it all this while.
“We’re committed to the Pixel program but we don’t have plans to restock the Pixel 2,” a spokesperson for the Mountain View, California-based company said.
There have been indications that Google is working on a new Chromebook…
While we already know that ZTE will unveil an audio-centric phone at this year’s IFA conference in Berlin, looks like the the device will feature a dual-camera setup as well. The company has released a teaser image that suggests this.
In addition, the teaser also confirms that the phone will be part of the company’s Axon series. Sadly, nothing else is currently known about the device in question, including its specifications and overall design.
Aside from the device being teased, we expect the ZTE Axon 7 mini to be also present at the event – in case you missed, the…

38 new and notable (and 1 WTF) Android games from the last 2 weeks (8/16/16 – 8/30/16) was written by the awesome team at Android Police.
Our full written review of the Honor 8 is on its way, so if you are excited about the Honor 8, you should watch our video review in the meantime.
TLDR: I really enjoyed using this little phone. Battery life is quite good and the 5.2 inch screen size stands out among the many smartphones out there with 5.5-inch displays.
There are only a couple of shortcomings that don’t entirely justify the $400 (or Euro) retail price. Still, The Honor 8 is a wonderful device to use, it’s snappy and its Kirin 950 silicon runs much cooler than the Snapdragon 820.

The Google Search widget is among the most recognizable features of Android; a handy source of quick answers to many of life’s everyday troubles. The little drop-down history bar is particularly useful for repeated searches, and it appears Google has been working to make this particular element even more streamlined.
Hitherto, the drop-down pane has presented searchers with lists of their previous searches on a one-per-line basis. As some users have discovered, Google has been testing an adjustment to this feature that better organizes searches into blocks. So … – Source

On Tuesday, The Wall Street Journal said a “person familiar with the matter” confirmed that Google would be moving into the ride-sharing market currently dominated by Uber and, to a lesser extent, Lyft. The source said that since May, Google has been testing a feature that lets Google employees and employees of other nearby firms in the Bay Area organize carpools through Waze, a mapping and traffic app purchased by Google in 2013.
The report noted that this new service would be different from Uber and Lyft in that it would only try to connect people who are already going in the same direction, offering rates low enough to discourage drivers from operating like taxis. The service will only be available in San Francisco at the beginning.
According to the WSJ, Waze’s drivers in the closed pilot test only make 54 cents a mile, although Google doesn’t take a cut as Uber and Lyft do.

Almost 10,000 workers have a complaint against Chipotle.
The workers are suing the burrito chain for wage theft, claiming they were forced to work off the clock with no pay.

The suit, Turner v. Chipotle, is the largest class action Chipotle has faced. It’s being adjudicated in Colorado.
In April, all hourly employees who worked at Chipotle after February 2012 were mailed a card asking if they wanted to sign on to the suit. Employees in every state with Chipotle locations have signed on, CNNMoney reported. …
