Toonpur director clears the air on controversies surrounding the film

With Toonpur Ka Superrhero and Tees Maar Khan slated to release this Friday, fans can only ponder over which film would rip the box-office open this week. So would Ajay's swagger attract spectators again with him having another winning streak, or will Katrina shine in all her glory and sway the audiences with her youthfulness? Besides releasing on the same day, the films have something else in common, they both have garnered their fair share of controversies, the latest being the animation hybrid Toonpur Ka Superrhero. The first controversy to hit TKS was that the makers on Ra. One claimed that apparently both the films have the same plot, Kireet Khurana director of the film said, "It's possible that they might have a similar story, I don't know what Shah Rukh's script is about but our script is not inspired by anyone, it's an original script." The second argument to hit the makers of TKS is regarding Guppy, one of the characters in the film who constantly harasses The Devtoons by breaking out into a jingle. This apparently, has not gone down well with veteran composer Bappi Lahiri who believes the character is trying to make fun of his real life personality. The singer-music composer is in fact taking legal action for defamation. Kireet Khurana, director of the film, who was in Hyderabad, came home to find a legal notice in his inbox, appalled he said, "I don't think that there are any marked similarities but for the record, Guppy wears an Elvis type getup and as an animator we derive inspirations from various sources. Like the lights on Guppy's outfit has been inspired from the Amitabh Bachchan song 'Saara Zamaana' from the film Yaarana." Kireet also sheds light on the characters cacophonic singing skills which is all attributed from Astrix. "Were getting tremendous response, I got back from R Mall in Mumbai, and everywhere, kids and their families were applauding the film." Kireet remarks excitedly waiting for the films release. "I think things are looking very good, it's very over whelming," says the debutant director.

Boman Irani signs up as brand ambassador of Kent RO water purifier

Boman Irani
They say that 'Age is just a number'. This saying is very much true in the case of Dr. Asthana aka Veeru Sahastrabudhhe aka the multi talented Boman Irani. He may have entered the film industry a bit late in his life but to say that he took it by storm would be an understatement. Boman Irani is the highly loved actor of Indian cinema whose every performance is like a work of art. So convincingly he performs his roles that it's hard to figure if he moulded into the character or whether the character is a part of him. After having 'been there, done that', Boman has now been signed up as the brand ambassador of Kent RO water purifiers, so informs the confirmed sources of Bollywood Hungama. With this, Boman joins the likes of Kent's already existing brand ambassadors, viz., Hema Malini, Esha Deol and Aahana Deol.

Vashu Bhagnani to bring 'Faltu' during the peak of cricket fever

Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky BhagnaniYears ago, Vashu Bhagnani had released his film BIWI NO. 1 during World Cup cricket matches. At that point of time, I distinctly remember, people had scoffed at Vashu, calling him overconfident and brash. But Vashu's calculations proved right as BIWI NO. 1 withstood the tough competition from cricket matches and emerged victorious at the box-office. In fact, back then, BIWI NO. 1 set new records at practically every centre, quashing the myth that films can't withstand the tough competition from cricket. The enterprising film-maker has now decided to pitch his next film FALTU during the cricket matches - during the peak of World Cup fever, next year. Vashu has confirmed 1 April as the release date of FALTU... and this is no April Fool joke. "I have tremendous confidence in my film. It has shaped up exceedingly well," Vashu informs me. But won't the clash with crucial cricket matches affect the business of his film? "We will try to avoid shows which clash with crucial matches. That will ensure that the cricket matches don't eat into our business," Vashu says. Meanwhile, Vashu is bringing in son Jackky's birthday on 25 December, by throwing a completion party on 24 December [yes, FALTU gets completed on this date]. The music launch of FALTU will take place on Valentine's Day next year.
