Why you won't want to rewatch 'Rogue One'

It had been a long 10 days since I’d first seen Rogue One in the euphoric setting of the world premiere in Los Angeles. Since then, I’d been on the road constantly — Las Vegas, New York — and hadn’t had a moment to book a second screening.

The movie was replaying in broken chunks in my head, and I needed to re-up as badly as any nerd. Thanks to a ticket from the Mashable art department, I finally got my second thrill-ride adrenaline fix. But afterward I found to my surprise that I was less interested in a third hit.

India's federal bank just can't make up its mind on demonetization

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), India’s federal bank, has now been touted as the ‘Reverse Bank of India’ or even the ‘Rollback Bank of India’, following its most recent U-turn that has to do with the deposit of scrapped currency notes.

Three days ago, the RBI had issued its 59th circular since demonetization, restricting people from depositing over Rs 5,000 ($73.7) in old banknotes more than once till Dec. 30.

One of the clauses had also said that any deposit exceeding that amount would be put through questioning by two bank officials, who have to be given a “satisfactory explanation” for why the old notes were not deposited earlier. …

Flashtool update includes Android 7.0 Nougat support

No one will blame you if you haven’t heard of Flashtool. This is because the software only supports Sony devices (Xperia Z10 to Xperia Z Ultra), and it is only relevant to tinkerers. The helpful tool can be used to unlock bootloaders and flash custom ROMs. It cool can be really easy and convenient, but until today it didn’t have support for Nougat, Android’s latest version.

Today Flashtool gets upgraded to version 0.9.23.0, which does include compatibility with Android Nougat. And while that is the most exciting improvement in this update, there are a few other things to enjoy. These include TA raw backup for devices exploitable by the dirtycow vulnerability, a more accurate USB log parse, a notice that will inform you whether you can use Flashtool Script and more. You can see the changelog here.

Latest Fitbit Charge 2 update adds workout pause, do not disturb mode, and more

We’re big fans of the recently released

The Fitbit Charge 2’s firmware update also brings two ways to turn off all notifications in its new Do Not Disturb feature (yes!). You can activate DnD mode by holding down the side button when the device shows its main clock face. You can also activate it by pressing the side button until you’re at the notifications screen, then pressing and holding it until your notifications are turned off.

The update also brings enhancements to the Charge 2’s heart rate sensor. Users will now be able to see which heart rate zones (fat burn, cardio, or peak) they’re in during a fitness session.

In addition, the Charge 2 is getting a dedicated battery life screen, as well as a new clock face that shows the hour, minute and seconds.

Finally, Charge 2 owners will notice some other improvements, such as being able to view workout recaps up to one hour after they are finished, along with a plus sign indicator if you have more than one notification to check out. If a caller doesn’t show up in your contact list, the device will show that number as coming from an “unknown” source.
