So much happened in the penultimate episode of The Night Of.
Everything is running along smoothly and all of the characters seem to have found a groove within their own particular lots. Chandra has taken the lead in the trial. Naz deepened his involvement in prison. Naz’s parents have committed to their sad fate. John Stone continues to build his own side case and plays nice with the cat. But very little of substance actually transpires in this episode.

One could argue that the show is building up to its ending, which will blossom naturally from this episode. And I can see that, easily. But that doesn’t help shake the feeling that I just watched the criminal justice system running on a hamster wheel. …
