U2 returns to Paris, pays tribute to victims of November 13 attacks


After canceling two shows in November in the immediate aftermath of the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris, rock megastars U2 returned to the city for their make-up dates and paid tribute to the victims of the attacks

Taking the stage at the AccordHotel Arena, Bono talked of Paris and the healing power of music, telling the crowd, according to Variety, “If you love liberty, Paris is your hometown.”


Later in the show, as the band played their popular anthem “In the Name of Love,” the names of the Paris attack victims were displayed on the arena’s giant screen, overlaying a French flag the now-famous peace sign/Eiffel Tower symbol from artist Jean Jullien in the center. …
