Samsung's Galaxy S7 Press Conference Is In A Giant Room Filled With A Bunch Of Gear VRs

Can you even? I cannot even. I am sitting in a giant room in Barcelona with hundreds, possibly thousands, of chairs, each equipped with a hard-wired Gear VR (likely for antitheft purposes).

A box under my seat reads “do not touch.” I touched the box. Nothing happened.

We’ll be hearing all about the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge shortly. And I will probably leave this press conference with a headache and a sore nose.

Unannounced Sony Xperia PP10 leaks out, should have a different name at launch

While Sony is certainly getting ready to unveil an Xperia Z6 family of smartphones sometime this year, we do not expect that to happen at MWC 2016 later this month. Still, Sony did schedule a press conference for February 22, but what will it announce then? Well, among other things, it could showcase the new handset that we’re seeing on the left (click to enlarge).

According to Evan Blass (@evleaks), this handset is currently known as Sony Xperia PP10. Of course, “PP10” doesn’t sound like a moniker that Sony would actually use to market a smartphone, so we’re expecting it to have a proper … – Source

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge hands-on video published hours before announcement

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge might be the world’s worst kept secret: and now, less than a day before its official announcement, a hands-on video showing the S7 Edge phone in action has surfaced on YouTube.
The Galaxy S7 Edge hands-on is a 4-minute production that shows off all of the key features of the phone: the always-on display, the less protruding camera and the slight changes in design with added curves for a more comfortable in-hand fit.
The hands-on also mentions what all earlier leaks and rumors: the … – Source

Jeb Bush ends bid for the Republican presidential nomination

He had the famous family name and the financial backing, but he still couldn’t seal the deal with Republican primary voters.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush ended his bid for the Republican presidential nomination on Saturday after yet another disappointing showing in South Carolina, finishing far behind Donald Trump and sitting in fifth place.

“I’m proud of the campaign we’ve run to unify our country… but the people of Iowa and New Hampshire and South Carolina have spoken and I respect their decision. PSA: The most underrated twin-stick co-op shooter of 2011 is currently free

Yesssss Renegade Ops! For free! (credit: Sega)

In an attempt to remind PC gamers about its gaming back catalog of the past few years, Sega’s PR team launched a campaign called “Make War, Not Love” last week. While this giveaway centered around free DLC for a trio of PC games, the campaign garnered more attention for its wholesale giveaways of unrelated Sega games that simply required showing up and submitting an e-mail address.

The campaign concluded on Saturday with its primary, popularity-contest portion swinging in the direction of Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II. Players of that game will receive free DLC in the near future. Anyone else can currently show up to the site and sign up for a Steam code which, upon redemption, will grant full access to a trio of freebies: Viking: Battle for Asgard, Gunstar Heroes, and Renegade Ops.

Renegade Ops launch trailer

Two of those count among the greatest co-op blasting games of all time—at least, in this humble author’s opinion. 2011’s Renegade Ops is a delightful, twin-stick retread of the ’80s action game Jackal, as it asks two players to drive suped-up, gun-mounted four-by-fours and blow up archetypal terrorists. Meanwhile, 1993’s Gunstar Heroes needs little introduction for any Mega Drive or Genesis owner, but if you’ve never played it, this frenetic, side-scrolling shooter really put game studio Treasure on the map, which was formed by ex-Konami staffers to make some of the craziest video games of the ’90s.

Galaxy S7 and S7 edge prices confirmed, to hit the shelves on March 11

Samsung is going to unveil the Galaxy S7 series in just a day in Barcelona, but the leaks have been giving us tiny bits of information over the past few months. We pretty much know almost everything there is to know about the new flagships, but we finally get conformation of the pricing.

We had reports the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will go on pre-order on February 22, while the actual launch will happen on March 11 in many markets.

We even heard the phones will retail at €699 for the S7 and €799 for the S7 edge, plus there is a chance the first to pre-order those to receive a free Gear VR headset.

Now we can confirm all of those rumors. Leaked promotional materials plus tips that we personally received from employees at phone retailers across Europe reveal the exact prices of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge – €699 and €799. We also know for sure that all who pre-order the devices not only will get them three days sooner and will get a free GearVR.

Indeed, many official retailers will be throwing a free Gear VR headset for the first batch of pre-orders. The confirmed markets so far are Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands.

The S7 flagships will go on pre-order this Monday – February 22 – and they both will ship on March 8. The actual in-store availability will begin three days later on March 11.

We already had lots of confirmation on the specs of the devices, thanks to various tips and leaked materials. The Galaxy S7 will come with a 5.1″ Super AMOLED Quad HD display and will run on either Snapdragon 820 or the new Exynos chip, both version featuring 4GB of RAM.

The main camera utilizes a new 12.1MP sensor, and the microSD slot is expected to make a return. Also returning will be the IP68 dust and water resistance.

The S7 and S7 edge are going official tomorrow, so we’ll know everything in a few hours. Stay tuned!

A big thank you to Max, Ciprian, and our other anonymous…
