The Baltimore Ravens stopped their game to watch Michael Phelps swim


On Thursday night, the NFL preseason (finally) began and one of the games featured the Baltimore Ravens hosting the Carolina Panthers.

Baltimore is also the home of Olympic champion Michael Phelps and, knowing he had a race tonight, the teams planned to show his race on the jumbotron. So, in the fourth quarter of the game, the two teams paused just long enough to watch Phelps swim, albeit on a slight delay.


Of course, we know how that race turned out: Phelps won handily, no matter what the CBC announcers said.


Fans at M&T Bank Stadium had no problems picking him out and gave what was probably the loudest cheer they’d give all night as Phelps brought home gold. …
