'Dilwale' review: This Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol starrer is high on style, low on substance


Dilwale marks the return of the romantic pair of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol to the silver screen after a gap of five years. Director Rohit Shetty, known for his action scenes and love for blowing up cars, is competing with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani, the other big release of the week in India.

The film begins with shots of Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) in a flashback, involved in a car chase and a gun battle. Cut to present, Raj owns a garage in Goa where his younger brother Veer (Varun Dhawan) and gang of other characters repair, modiy and make designer cars. Though he comes across as a simpleton, Raj has a past. The angry young man inside comes out when Veer is hit by goons one day. We also come to know he has another name — Kaali. …
