This nonprofit is giving out thousands of baby carriers to Syrian refugees

More than 715,000 refugees and migrants have arrived in Greece since the beginning of 2015, many traveling long, dangerous routes across the Mediterranean to find new lives far from home. Now, volunteers are trying to help lighten their loads.

An organization called Carry the Future has distributed more than 3,000 baby carriers to Syrian refugees on the Greek island of Kos, helping them carry children as they travel long distances on foot after arriving in Europe. Volunteers in Athens have an additional 2,500 baby carriers, which they plan to distribute in the area by Thanksgiving Day.
