Woman in a vagina mask hands out tampons to protest subway shaming

Millions of people ride the subway everyday and you can assume that about half of them are women. These women are exposed to ads for breast implants or weight loss supplements — but not a lot of ads are geared toward empowering them.


Earlier in October, ads for Thinx, a company that makes special underwear for women to wear during their period in lieu of other products like tampons or pads, were put under review by the Metropolitan Transit Authority who found the ads “too suggestive.”
