The Netherlands-based TNT Express accepted a friendly $4.8 billion bid for all of its shares by Fedex Corp on Tuesday as it aims to uphold a quality and sustainable logistics operation in a cut-price environment dominated by giant global clients such as Amazon and other online retailers. The offer rings an end to an over-ambitious expansion project by the puny Dutch postal and telecoms services which bought Australia?s TNT in 1996 as part of a major transformation and privatization. - Source
